World Police & Fire Games In Alabama

Beate Schramm, 57, is a detective with the Potsdam, Germany police department. She is also an Olympic rower and will represent her country in Birmingham, Alabama, June 27-July 6. Geezer Jock will find some stories among these first responders.

The World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) are an Olympic-style competition with thousands of athletes representing First Responders from different countries across the world. This includes law enforcement, firefighters, and officers from corrections, probation, border protection, immigration, & customs. The Games are held biennially and typically have 60+ sports in the Official Games program.

Alabama is expecting 8,500 athletes from 70+ countries.

Registration is still OPEN. All ages.
