In Poland at the World Masters Athletics indoor championships...
Gloria Krug, 91, was awarded six Gold medals in the W90-94 for Hammer, Javelin, Shot Put, Discus, Weight Throw, and Triple Jump. It is against no competition, but as we've said at Geezer Jock before, she has bested Father Time by just being there.
Geezer Jock friend Allan Tissenbaum, a doc from Pittsburgh, won a gold medal Wednesday in the Men's 60-64 60 meter dash at the World Masters Athletics meet. He went 7.71 to win by .06. Photo finish.
The Steel City had a big week with Charles Allie taking Gold in the M75 60 meter dash. What a comeback from cancer for Charles. He was the only sprinter to go less than 9 seconds (8.79).
Nolan Shaheed, featured last Saturday in Geezer Jock, finished second today in the 800 in the World Masters Athletics championships. Nolan went 2:33.70. Ireland's Joe Gough went 2:29.61 to win Gold. Considering Nolan's story, silver aint bad. It's especially not bad because Gough put on a blast of speed in the last 200.
Carol Finsrud of Lockart, Texas won the Gold medal in the W65 discus! She has quite the resume in the throws.
Andrea Collier was overflowing with emotion after capturing a bronze in the W60 60 meters. Andrea frequently shares on Geezer Jock.
Karla del Grande set a World Masters Athletics championship record in the W70 200 meters while running in the W65 race. I know, weird. Karla explained to me her birthday falls in that March window that causes head scratching.
Michael Kish is a year older for M70 sprints, but the competition still can't catch him. Mike won the 60 (8.24) over Germany's Helmut Meier (8.54).
Kish also won the 200 M70 with a 26.71 to beat Simon Barrett of Great Britain (27.79).
Nolan Shaheed, featured last Saturday in Geezer Jock, finished second today in the 800 in the World Masters Athletics championships. Nolan went 2:33.70. Ireland's Joe Gough (Goff) went 2:29.61 to win Gold. Considering Nolan's story, silver aint bad. Goff was amazing in the last 200.
Ken Moss, a weight thrower profiled in Geezer Jock this week, saw his world record heave of 19'57 meters erased this week by Norway's Arild Busterud who tossed 20.99. Ken's record lasted four weeks, which is longer than you or I could say we held a world record.
Barbara Warren of West Virginia won a silver medal in the W75 Pentathlon. Warren is at every meet and cheers on her fellow competitors non-stop...on a wrecked knee that will be replaced this year.

Slugger at 75: Luke Appling
This home run happened years ago in Washington, D.C.,during an old-timers game, but I thought I would bring it back.
I mean how often does a 75-year old guy clear the fence?
