I think you should read these.
1. The people you know by sight, not name, are important, too.
My friend Jay at PrimeFit Content spotted this. It is about "weak ties" or the people we know casually and how uplifting they can be. We don't confide necessarily in them, but for older people out of the office, or living alone, they can provide a sense of belonging.
Not exactly Geezer Jock-ish, but worth posting. People on the street we see regularly without know their last names, or where they live, but say 'Hey Ray' and you say 'Hey' back.
2. 800 sit ups at 80? He did it.
From Growing Bolder you have to listen to this 2-minute storyof the man who did 800 sit ups on his 80th birthday...and then he did much more.
3. 'Enema with a fire hose'
The scientist had to compete with 50 others to make a trip into space. He still relishes the voyage 31 years ago. It was a grueling competition, mentally and physically, but he had an edge.
He told his story to Del Moon of The National Senior Games Association.
