Quick Read Stories

1) The Power Of Powerlifting.

The Mayo Clinic studied muscle tissue samples taken from 197 people and researchers concluded that resistance training "could slow and, in many cases, reverse the changes in muscle fibers associated with aging. This was even true in people who didn’t start resistance training until after age 70."

With that in mind, the National Senior Games Association added Powerlifting to its vast lineup of sports scheduled for Des Moines, Iowa, later this summer.

The headliner for powerlifting will be 82-year old Faith O'Reilly of Colorado, the oldest female registered for the sport.

This story on Faith will give you a lot to think about with resistance training. And here is the Mayo study.
