These are five lessons from Geezer Jocks. Are you mentally stuck? Follow one of these examples, including from Ray Jansco shown here running. He built a Health Bank and it helped rescue him from the brink of death.
1) It's Never Too Late.
Flo Meiler started Masters Track & Field when she was 56. She's in her 90s now and still competing. Her motto is "It's never too late". You don't have to be a former high school athlete to get out there now. Photo on newsletter cover by Rob Jerome.
Here is the story I did on Flo three years ago.
2) Adversity? You Got This.
DeEtte had an alcohol problem. She had a weight problem.
And then she started swimming. She overcame her problems with fun exercise.
A story about an amazing woman.
3) Prepare Yourself For A Health Hiccup.
His strong health, among other things, saved him in Vietnam when he should have come home draped in a flag (over his coffin) and instead was draped in medals. Later in life, Ray J needed the strong health that comes with regular workouts to beat back death again.
4) Get Strong. Fix Balance Issues.
Limit your falls. Be more balanced. How? Lift weights. Do work with bands. Start now,
Read Barb's story to inspire you.
5) Don't Wait For Life To Be Perfect
Barbara Warren had knee replacement surgeries on her calendar. She had track & field meets on her calendar before the surgeries. She didn't postpone anything. We are always going to have something to deal with health-wise as we age. Don't hurt yourself, but consider powering through. Don't make excuses.
